Messi Finds Neymar and Leipzig Strikes From Distance: Top 5 Weekend Goals

Messi has his swagger back in France, threading assists all over the Parisian pitch.
While the Premier League was away, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and LaLiga came out to play.
Here are the top 5 goals from this past weekend, even without any Premiership action.

5 – Filip Đuričić – Sampdoria

Serbian midfielder Filip Đuričić gave his Sampdoria side hope early in the second half of a thrilling 2-1 AC Milan victory. Considering the meg in the build up, this goal would be worth two in some leagues. Sampdoria truly had Milan on their heels as they passed around them, finding the tight angle on the header for the finish. Sampdoria may have won the battle, but Girona won the war.

4 – Jamal Musiala – Bayern Munich

Though he’s not even Bayern’s youngest teenager, Musiala does indeed play like a veteran. The calm first touch, the hip shimmy, the low and hard strike to the corner – between Musiala and Mathys Tel, Bayern Munich fans have years and years to look forward to. But Bayern has disappointed as of late, tying their last three league matches. VfB Stuttgart tied Munich 2-2 on the day.

3 – Neymar – PSG

Everybody’s talking about that Messi assist, as they should be – but let’s not overlook Neymar’s skill here. The tight-footed control followed by the powerful and accurate dagger to the right side netting is a work of art. Messi is looking like himself again. The UCL should be very afraid.

2 – Federico Valverde – Real Madrid

Plays like this are why Real Madrid is the only team in the top five European leagues that has won every game this season. Even with FIFA Player of the Year Karim Benzema nursing a muscle injury, Los Blancos cannot stop losing. Valverde practically does this one by himself, juking defenders and absolutely drilling it into the top shelf. Nobody is stopping that shot.

1 – Dominik Szoboszlai – RB Leipzig

After a shocking UCL defeat to Shakhtar, RB Leipzig hired new manager Marco Rose and tasked him with preparing the Red Bulls for an in-form Dortmund in just three days. RB Leipzig shocked the Bundesliga by beating Borussia 3-0 in Rose’s coaching debut. Hungarian midfielder Szoboszlai lasers a once-in-a-lifetime shot into the top of the net from at least 25 yards out.
